One last goal completed

Yesterday I had an appointment at the bank so I could add the $1500 I had saved to my fledgling RRSP portfolio.

When you don't have a lot to add, or have a lot of questions about the paperwork, it really doesn't take much time at all. Except if they book you in with the wrong person. When I phoned the reception I explained what I wanted to do and with whom - the girl who usually handles this is on mat leave so I requested whomever was handling her cases while she was gone.

I arrived at the bank and had a bit of time to wait so I surrepticiously cleaned my purse out of old receipts. I even found the one that showed the mistake at the end of last month when the girl took money out of my line of credit instead of paying against the debt. 

I was escorted to the office and sat down while she opened up my accounts, only to be unable to find my RRSP. Turns out the lady I was with only handled RRSPs the bank itself monitors. The lady I usually do my RRSPs with is affliated with Credential. They asked if I would pop back in today and they promised to have all the papers ready for me to sign. And they did. soooo....


My RRSP balance now stands at $5700. I will feel happier when this gets to over $10 000. I know I have my pension (unless something happens to it - god forbid), but I still want to build up the RRSP and TFSA accounts.
