$10 bills. I miss you.

I've probably said this before, but I MISS not getting $10 bills out of debit machines. A long time ago, perhaps too long, one of the banks I go to offered $10 and $20. As far as I know, that is a thing of the past. $20 is the standard.

It's not that I have anything against $20. They are lovely and green and if someone wanted to give me one, I sure would take it. But I miss the lovely royal purple of our Canadian $10 bill.

I use it for the different denominations in our jars.  I use it for the boys' allowance. I need it for different things at work when there is something we need to chip in for.

When I fill my jars I would really prefer to just go to the ATM and take out the money, but I am a girl who likes variety in her ....errr.....currency lol

I know....get off your lazy butt Jolie and head to the brick and mortar and take it out.  Trouble is that it's only open until 4 Mon through Thurs. Friday it's open until 5. I just can't get there after school most days. Which means running out at noon. I know..quit complaining and just do it LOL

I am just an equal opportunity currency kinda girl  :P

PS- I am officially an old woman today. DS1 turns 16 today. lordy!!

IRONIC ADDITION - I gave DS1 $20 to treat he and a friend for lunch today at school since I can't get away. He said "oh boy I can go grab a chocolate milk before school.Oh wait!! the lady in there will get mad at me cuz I have a $20 and that will use up her float." I traded him for a precious $10 and 2 $5 LOL

I want $10 from bank machines!! That would make it so much easier to spend less because I would be withdrawing less!!

I completely agree!! My budget used to come to $125/week, which I'd withdraw twice per month. Since I could never withdraw $250, I've now reduced the budget to $240 every two weeks just because I can't take out 10's.

Ha ha! I said this same thing to a friend just the other day! I end up going to the teller to get my 20's broken, but it would be so much simpler to get 10's from the machine. Sometimes I just can't be bothered and overfill the jars. I end up getting change from one place or another anyway...

There is ONE and only one ATM in our area that still dispenses 10's...I try to use it whenever I can!

Well I guess going into the bank is a far sight better than what I do! I go into a variety store and buy some stupid pack of gum or something equally unnecessary in order to "break" my $20.
I'd better got off of MY butt and WALK to the bank - I could burn some calories and some money at the same time!

I love this post! Scarily enough, ATM's here on the east coast are starting to implement $50 bills for withdrawal. So if you take out $100, you'd get two 50's instead of five 20's! SO inconvenient! You really have to watch for marked machines.

*shocked*

I have NEVER EVER EVER seen $10 dispensed at ATMs. Only $20 and $50~!

Same here in Oz, and I really like $10 notes so I can come home and do my break ups.If I want to take out $100 it will dispense it in 2 x $50 notes so I end up having to take out $110 so I can get 1x $50 and 3 x $20,s.

Or like Jane if the banks are closed I,ll buy something I don,t need just to get the change, grrrrrr

Pear: This was probably before your (own ATM card) time. ;)

I would love it my ATMs would cough out $10 bills. Sometimes with only $20's, I'm taking out more than I need, then end up having to make change or carrying (then spending) extra cash with me.
What's worse is one of my banks gives out $50's. ...I'd rather take the $10's.
