$1.129 a liter

yup that 's correct. That is how much our gas went up to yesterday. Prior to Christmas, we'd been hanging around $1.019 for quite some time. Then 2 weeks before Christmas, it jumped to $1.099 over night. Then this little blessing yesterday. I guess I am lucky I filled up Tuesday night so I am good for a week or so.

It's craziness how it jumps so quick. Not sure what that comes to per gallon for the US readers.

Did everyone else's prices jump up too???

Oh you definitely pay more that the US is on average. I always just multiply whatever the Canadian litre by 4 to get a gallon. We pay about $3.00 gal, so you're paying about $4.50 gal.

We'll be going to Ontario next week, and I've had to budget extra just for gas because of the price per litre!

Gas is $2.97 a gallon right now and it's expected to jump to $4 a gallon. I'm really glad we have cars that get good gas mileage :)

I live across the street from a Petro-Can, and sometimes watch with amusement the lineups when gas prices fluctuate wildly.
Today, the price is $113.9/L. But it does vary across the city I live in about 2-3 cents.

I don't have much to say on the gas prices, but I figured this post was as good as any to say that I just discovered your blog, and I'm loving it! I'll be adding you to my RSS feed shortly. Thanks!

And it was really satisfying to see how well you did with your 2010 financial goals-- good work!

you have to keep in mind that a Canadian gallon and a US gallon are actually different measurements too (very confusing).

Our gas went up in Alberta too! :(

Ours went up 7 cents a litre at the beginning of the week: from $1.1129 to $1.199. Ouch. I'll be walking to work a lot more in the near future...

our gas went up... but it's been at 1.132 for awhile. Then it jumped to 1.145. Now it's back down to 1.132. Yknow what's weird? I still remember it being 49cents as a kid.

Have you also noticed that when the price up a barrel of oil goes up the price of gas goes up immediately but when the price of oil goes down it can take several days or more for the price of gas to come down. They got us coming or going!
