A one shot snowflake

I hadn't really paid attention to the ads on tv for the UCCB... universal child care benefit...for Canadian parents out there.  My kids are both graduated and I guess I tuned it out.

It wasn't until I read Eboo's page this morning that it registered in my head there might be something for moi.

This is a new program for parents with kids under 18 that is not based on income, which is  a relief.

Since DS2 only turned 18 in April, I received $60 x 4 months for him.

I wish they had had this when my kids were younger. Sure could have would have come in handy.

But I happily took my $240 to the bank today and tucked it into the boys' college funds.

A nice surprise for a Monday.
