Here's to 2019

"Start the year like you want to finish it"

I've heard that quote before, or versions of it. I truly hope not. I had the flu New Year's Day. Lots of nausea and vomiting and all kinds of fun stuff. Let's hope the 1st was just to get it off my list.

It's no secret that 2018 had far too many downs and few ups.  I would like to say that 2019 will be all sunshine and roses but I know better now. My innocence for those sorts of things is gone. I know that it is unlikely I will have a dad throughout all of 2019. I know other things will come up. Changes and tough moments that test my character, my patience and my emotions. So many things beyond my control. And some that are.

So here is my list for the year.

Bonjour 2019.

Happy new year, Jolie! I wish you a gentler 2019 and hope you can check off some of those nice things on your list. I, too, am 'starting as I mean to finish' and am taking myself out for a walk at lunch hour. I have no excuse. Here's to life and all its inevitabilities, good, bad and in-between. Hoping you feel better after your bout with the flu and sending a hug to start your year off a little better xx

Oh Jolie, i love the list... Focusing on self care is a theme I'm seeing all over for 2019. I hope that this year finds you peace. The grieving process is not linear, it's full of squiggles and bumps. I find the hardest part of loving my beloved fur boy is coming home and no longer seeing him waiting on the top of the stairs. Hugs to you!

Your list could be my list! It's perfect! Spending time on yourself is the most important thing we women can do - hence I don't think I'll clean more hahaha! But other than that it's a great list.
