Winter Break

Friday 3:30 brought smiles to all kinds of faces, and not just to the students.

That all too familiar bell brought the beginning of our winter break up here in my world.

A whole week off!

It had been a very stressful last two weeks of school with some tough things happening there.

I had originally planned to go see DS1 during this break but I just can't swing the $5000 it would cost for DH and I to fly, rent a car, hotel and other expenses.

So I now have a whole week to rest (ohhhh have I been exhausted), to watch some curling, to blog, to clean clean clean, to visit with DS2 when he gets home. Maybe even to get in a walk or two.  Some baking and perhaps a new recipe to try.

The weather had been fantastic all week. Plus 0 temps and all kinds of melting. I can see half my backyard. It makes me long to put my patio set out, but we all know that winter is not nearly finished.

It feels luxurious and decadent.

College LOC - $18 093

Total Debt - $32 454.28

RRSP Update

When last we left off the tiny little RRSP engine that could, it was sitting at $13 473.14 after growing a bit from the previous quarter.

I have changed nothing in terms of where the money goes - ethical dividends and bonds.

My latest portfolio statement says I am at $13 925.48

That's a growth of just about $450.  Not phenomenal by any standard, but moving the tiniest bit in the right direction.

Now to get at saving for this year's contribution.
