When I knew that DS was going to BC I checked out using Air Miles for the flight. There wasn't enough for both of them to go using the miles. I looked at hotels that were sponsered in the area but they were not well 'liked' in online reviews. I rented a car for them while they were there using the miles.
And while I was there I browsed other rewards I could redeem (read 'spend'). Some things are ridiculously prices in miles. Some things I'd never use.
But I DID find a couple things I spent my miles on.
I picked up HELLO Canada - 6 months, 26 issues, for 260 miles.
I also picked up Money Sense - 1 year, 7 issues, for 75 reward miles.
I have to admit, it was fun to spend :-)
Do you save your reward miles for flights, or use them on other things?

That's awesome! And I don't have any airmiles, just yet.
I don't have air miles, but I do use my My Coke Rewards to get magazines for me and family. Part of my Christmas shopping. :)
We usually just trade ours out for GC's to Metro. (grocery store)
I try to save them for flights... But if I were going to cash them in, I think I would use them for gift cards :) DTN
I recently joined this facebook group: 50,000 strong for AIR Miles to bring back GOOD gift cards
because airmiles just got rid of every gift card I use! so mad!
Thank you for posting this! I've been wanting to subscribe to MoneySense for ages but was hesitant to fork out the money. I checked my airmiles balance and I have plenty to order it!
Took me ten years to save up 1000 miles. I finally used them for Chapters gift certificates, and bought xmas presents :)
Now I only collect points on my credit card which goes toward any balance I may carry in the future.
I looooove airmiles. I bought a Kitchenaid mixer with mine in February, and now I'm saving up for an espresso machine or maybe a slow cooker. I love air miles! Sometimes it's hard just not to spend the little amount on iTunes or Starbucks gift cards though lol
cool!! it's neat to see what others use their miles for
