We had some amazing temperatures this week. PLUS ones. Even a couple of the days it was in the double digits! Snow is melting like crazy and there are rivers of water.
It's amazing what 'spring' can do with one's spirit and mood. People are out walking everywhere. Strollers. Dogs. Bikes. Skateboards. Everyone is excited at being able to use the streets again. Or even to see them. Lawns and parks where it is melting are sodden with the water.
Our front lawn is 98% snow free. It's south facing. The back yard is about 50% snow free but very wet.
DH is in the garage as we attempt to tidy and sort and clean a winter's worth of dumping stuff here and setting it there. It will be nice to see it again.
Our neighbour cut his front lawn this morning. The snow only melted off it yesterday so it is far too soon to cut - but it's not my lawn and he didn't ask my opinion :-) and I have to be honest....hearing a lawnmower was a really good sound.
The air is so fresh and just envigors the heart. I am going to be wild and crazy and hang clothes on the line today. I'll have to throw on rubber boots to get through the snow and wet but I'm ok with that.
Have a fantastic day everyone!

I have to say it is funny when people are so so excited for spring, that they will still sport shorts and tshirts even when it's still cool enough. Can't blame them! Though we dont have/didnt have ANY snow to report with any degree of seriousness, glad yours is finally melting off. I can't say I'm excited for all the lawnmowers! My nose and eyes are just killing me.
Your spring sounds like our spring. Yesterday it even got up to 20 here! No lawnmowers yet but lots of us have been out raking our lawns like crazy. Today, it's cloudy and raining off and on (thankful for that) but there is a weather warning out for strong winds and a thunderstorm. Seems to early for that! We saw lightening a while ago driving home from the store. Nice night to stay in and dream of my garden.
Enjoy your spring!
Ain't the weather grand as my gramma used to say! After a week filled with every type of weather possible - snow, freezing rain and hail - I was just desperate to get outside and yesterday was finally what I was waiting for - mild and sunny! Yippee - I think spring is here at last!
I've been loving this spring weather too! Even wore shorts (and a hoody) to walk the dogs :)
I spoke too soon. snowed today :-)
Spring is my favorite time of year. After a dark cold winter I feel renewed! I just wish our spring was a bit warmer. It feels more like fall!
Good job on cleaning out your garage. That's on our 'to do' list in the next couple of weeks!
Toronto is EXACTLY how Makky's Mom described it. Snow one Friday... By Monday, we were 10C and sunny skies. Mother nature is fickled. But yes, spring has finally come.
